Coffee Grinders in the UAE

A grinder does more for your coffee than any other piece of equipment. Excellent beans through a poor grinder taste flat; ordinary beans through a good one taste noticeably better. The reason is particle consistency – when grounds are uneven, the fine particles over-extract and turn bitter while the coarse ones under-extract and taste sour, and you drink both at once. A proper burr grinder produces uniform particles, which is what makes a cup taste clean and sweet.

Choosing the Right Grinder

Burr or Blade?

Blade grinders chop beans at random, producing dust and boulders in the same batch – which is why supermarket blade grinders make bitter coffee no matter how good the beans are. Burr grinders crush beans between two precisely machined surfaces at a set distance, so the particles come out the same size. Every grinder in this collection is a burr grinder.

Flat or Conical Burrs?

Flat burrs generally produce the most uniform grind and are favoured for filter coffee, where clarity matters most – the Fellow Ode Gen 2 is the standout example. Conical burrs handle a wider range of grind sizes in one machine and suit anyone brewing both espresso and filter, like the Fellow Opus.

Hand or Electric?

Hand grinders are compact, need no power and travel anywhere – ideal for a desk, a trip or a first grinder. Electric grinders are faster and far more convenient for daily use or for anyone grinding more than a couple of cups at a time.
