Hario Polaris Coffee Scale | Brewing Scale with Timer in the UAE

Brewing by ratio is the single change that makes good coffee repeatable, and that needs a scale. The Hario Polaris is built for coffee rather than kitchen use – it weighs to 0.1 g precision and includes a built-in timer, so you track dose, yield and brew time on one display instead of juggling a phone.

Scoops cannot do this job: bean density changes with roast level, so the same scoop of a light roast and a dark roast are meaningfully different doses.

Why do I need a coffee scale?	Coffee is a ratio of coffee to water. Without weighing, your dose changes with every bag and your results change with it.
What ratio should I use?	Around 1:16 for pour-over – for example 20 g of coffee to 320 ml of water – then adjust to taste.
Can I use a kitchen scale instead?	You can, but most only read to 1 g and lack a timer, which makes brew recipes harder to follow.
