A super-automatic machine is a different proposition from an espresso machine. There is no portafilter, no tamping and no milk jug – you press one button and a finished flat white arrives. The question is whether the coffee is any good, and that comes down to the brewing system inside.

Kalerm develops its own. The B5 runs at 7 bar of extraction pressure with an extraction rate above 19%, which is squarely in specialty territory rather than the weak, thin cup that cheap bean-to-cup machines are known for. A conical steel burr grinder with adjustable granularity feeds it, and a fresh milk system blends steam, milk and air to produce real microfoam rather than bubbly froth.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from a Sage espresso machine?	Completely different approach. A Sage machine uses a portafilter and expects you to be involved – tamping, texturing milk, dialling in. The Kalerm B5 is super-automatic: no portafilter at all, one button per drink. Choose the B5 if you want consistency with zero technique, a Sage if you want to make the coffee yourself.
Does it use fresh milk or powder?	Fresh milk, drawn from a detachable carafe. The system blends steam, milk and air to make genuine microfoam.
How hard is the milk system to clean?	Easier than most. The no-tube design means there are no narrow internal milk lines to trap residue – every part comes off and goes in the dishwasher.
Can I adjust the grind?	Yes. The conical steel burr has adjustable granularity, so you can tune it to the beans you buy rather than accepting one fixed setting.
Is it suitable for an office?	Yes, for a small team or a meeting room. The 4 user profiles let people save their own drinks. For higher-traffic sites, Kalerm's X series commercial machines are the right choice.
Does it need descaling?	Yes, and it matters here – UAE water is hard and scale is the main cause of failure in automatic machines. Descale on schedule with a proper descaler such as Urnex Dezcal.
